ELECTRONIC GAMING ZONE

The Electronic Gaming Zone — Lights, Scores and the Joy of Beating Your Sibling

There’s a particular moment that happens in our gaming zone that we’ve watched hundreds of times: an older child who spent the first visit looking slightly bored by the soft play area — because they’ve technically aged past it — walks into the gaming zone and their entire posture changes. Suddenly they’re leaning in, reading the instructions on a machine, deciding which game to try first. That shift is what the gaming zone was designed to create.

Not every family has a child who’s squarely in the one-to-ten soft play bracket. Older children deserve their own experience, and siblings at very different ages need a venue that works for both of them at the same time. The electronic gaming zone at Topsy Turvy solves exactly this problem.

What You'll Find in the Gaming Zone

Arcade Machines

Classic arcade-style machines that require no prior gaming experience but reward skill and practice. The format is immediately accessible — press the button, see what happens — and the learning curve is short enough that children experience success within their first few minutes, which keeps them engaged rather than frustrated.

Ticket Redemption Games

Games that dispense tickets based on performance, which children can accumulate and later exchange for prizes at our counter. This format creates genuine excitement and a sense of longer-term investment across a visit — children are always working toward something.

Racing and Motion Games

Seated machines where children control vehicles or characters through physical movement. Popular with children who have energy to burn and with parents who enjoy watching the expressions of total concentration on young faces.

Group Challenge Stations

Select machines are set up for head-to-head play, so siblings or friends can compete directly. Healthy competition at this age — structured, low-stakes and laugh-filled — builds resilience, sportspersonship and a surprising amount of arithmetic when ticket totals get counted up.

Age Range and Accessibility

The gaming zone is suitable from approximately six years upward, though some machines are accessible to younger children with adult assistance. Older teenagers and adults are welcome too — the machines don’t discriminate, and neither do we.

Token or play credits are purchased at the reception counter. Credits don’t expire within your visit, so there’s no pressure to rush through. A parent who decides to have a go on a racing game is a parent we fully support.

How the Gaming Zone Fits Into Your Visit

Many families use the gaming zone as the natural second act of a Topsy Turvy visit. Younger children do an hour in the soft play zone, then siblings swap and the older child's turn begins. Parents drift between zones and the café. Everyone leaves satisfied — which is honestly the highest ambition any family venue can have. Families visiting for birthday parties can include gaming tokens as part of party packages, which adds an extra layer of excitement for older guests and keeps the energy up between cake and soft play sessions. Socks are mandatory for all children in the play zone. We sell grip socks at the reception if you need them. Water bottles are permitted inside the zone; food is not, to keep the equipment clean.
